Please read these Terms of Service carefully before installing or using Media Cleanup. By installing the app on your Shopify store, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Merchant", "you", "your") and Media Cleanup ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the Media Cleanup Shopify application and any associated websites or services (collectively, the "Service").
By clicking "Install", accessing, or otherwise using the Service, you represent that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Media Cleanup is a Shopify application that provides the following functionality:
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
To use Media Cleanup, you must:
Media Cleanup accesses your Shopify store using OAuth authorization granted through the Shopify App Store installation process. By installing the app, you grant Media Cleanup permission to:
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Shopify account. Any actions taken through the Media Cleanup interface are your responsibility. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
You may revoke Media Cleanup's access to your store at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin.
Free Plan: Media Cleanup offers a Free plan at no cost with limited functionality including one scan per month, usage detection, and basic file management.
Pro Plan: The Pro plan is available for $14.99 USD per month and includes unlimited scans, safe deletion with 30-day restoration, AI alt text generation, and all Free plan features.
Free Trial: New Pro plan subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your store will be billed automatically unless you cancel or downgrade before the trial ends.
Billing: All billing for the Pro plan is handled by Shopify through their standard app billing system. By subscribing, you authorize Shopify to charge your store's payment method on a recurring monthly basis. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice.
Cancellation: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time from within the Media Cleanup app or your Shopify admin. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
Price Changes: We reserve the right to change our pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Notice will be provided via in-app notification or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
You agree to use Media Cleanup only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Service.
Important: Permanently deleting files from Media Cleanup removes them from your Shopify store. This action cannot be undone through our Service once the 30-day trash window has expired. Please ensure you have backups of any files you wish to keep before permanent deletion.
Trash bin (Pro plan): When you delete files using the Safe Delete feature, they are moved to a trash bin for up to 30 days. During this period, you can restore any file to your Shopify store. After 30 days, files are permanently deleted from Shopify's servers.
Direct deletion (Free plan): Files deleted on the Free plan are sent directly to Shopify for permanent deletion without a recovery window. By confirming a deletion on the Free plan, you acknowledge this is irreversible.
We are not responsible for any business impact resulting from the deletion of media files. It is your sole responsibility to verify which files to delete before taking action. We strongly recommend reviewing the usage data shown by the app before deleting files.
While our scanning technology is designed to be accurate, no automated system is perfect. Media Cleanup's usage detection covers products, collections, blog posts, pages, and theme settings accessible via the Shopify Admin API. Custom integrations, third-party apps, or files embedded in external HTML may not be detected.
The AI alt text generation feature uses third-party AI inference APIs to analyze your images and generate descriptive text. By using this feature, you acknowledge:
AI-generated content is provided as a convenience tool only. Do not rely on it as the sole method of compliance with accessibility requirements such as WCAG.
Our property: The Media Cleanup application, including its software, design, code, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without prior written consent.
Your content: You retain full ownership of all media files and content in your Shopify store. We claim no ownership over your media, store data, or any content processed through the Service. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to access and process your store data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
Feedback: If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without obligation to you.
Disclaimer of warranties: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
Limitation of liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MEDIA CLEANUP, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Maximum liability: IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liability, so the above limitations may not apply to you to the extent prohibited by applicable law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Media Cleanup and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
By you: You may terminate your use of the Service at any time by uninstalling Media Cleanup from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling the app will cancel any active subscription at the end of the current billing period.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without notice, if we determine that:
Effect of termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction in which Media Cleanup operates, as applicable.
You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the applicable forum described above, and you consent to personal jurisdiction therein.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
